What a busy day Saturday 20th December was for Hanko-Ryu Association. It started with various belt gradings upto 1st kyu being taken at Mark Hall including students from SKA, with certificates awarded at the End Of Year Presentation Party.
This was followed by the annual blackbelt reunion course at The Stow, attended by dan grades and 1st kyu's from clubs within the association and growing steadily in numbers.

This was followed by the End Of Year Presentation Party held at Church Langley Community Centre. It was decided that the junior blackbelts should attend in fancy dress. They certainly got into the spirit of the evening with James Piggot winning an I-Pod for his effort and bravery!

Everyone that represents the Association at an outside competition/national is thanked each year with a small token of our appreciation. This year the representatives were given a crystal paper weight which seemed to go down well, especially with the younger students.

The senior medal table was won by Reece Taylor, with Clare Bonello 2nd and Paul Keates 3rd.

The junior medal table was won by Sean Perry, with Jack Perry 2nd and Lucy Palmer 3rd.

Sensei Nariman then presented various awards to his instructors and people that have helped the club achieve another successful year. Harry Hudspeth & Shane Gillick were awarded medals for outstanding achievement with Debs Perry receiving the outstanding leaders medal from the Jack Petchey Foundation. The evening finished as it had begun with a disco and games for the younger students and was aided by an excellent buffet put on by parents who the association would like to thank for their generosity, time and effort. Here's to 2009.
